Fashion Week Poland

We finally managed to put the pictures together and can share our last trip to Poland with you.

The reason for the tour: Fashion Week Poland!!!

Have a look at the spring-summer 2013 collections.

TOMAOTOMO by Tomasz Olejniczak, who firmly believes in gold.
Łukasz Jemioł „Basic“
For him the most risky trend is „uncovering your body“. He believes that you have to expose your body within sensible limits.

Inspired by Rashid’s geometric architecture. Brave combinations of colors!!!

Many thanks to Rafael Poschmann, who took the pictures.

Baby it´s cold outside….

Yes, it finally came! The snow is here and we have nearly artic temperatures.

The white, crisp snow makes everything so much more beautiful and peaceful. It adds a lot of light to this dark season of the year.

Since Sunday the temperature has been around of -15°C or even lower – at the nighttime it´s getting down to -20. Keeping warm is quite a challenge.

When I lived in Germany – in Cologne to be exact  – I didn´t really know what winter means. I also didn´t have the right clothes for it. However, if you want to enjoy this season in Sweden, warm clothes are essential.

No matter how cold it gets, I absolutely love this time of the year! Only when my girls have to get dressed for outside adventures, it gets more complicated. It can easily take 15 min before all 3 of us are properly dressed ;-)

For my birthday this year I got the classic Woolrich Arctic Parka – a basic piece that will keep me warm for many winters.

At the moment I match it with warm cardigans,  tops and big boots.

Next week we will celebrate the St. Lucia day, one of my absolute favorite holiday traditions here in Sweden.

I can’t wait to tell you all about this wonderful day.

Until then, stay warm and cozy! Have a wonderful week!

Love from Stockholm, Tilla

Hello December!

Resource: www.myprettypennies.com

It’s finally December – the time of the year that we all love so much! The first snow comes usually in December…at least the one that sticks around for a couple of hours. We build snowmen, go ice skating or just throw snowballs. We spend the Advent Sundays with loved ones at home or we get some Christmas shopping done. This is a great time to realize how fortunate we are and to focus on giving instead of taking. Trust me: it can only enhance your Christmas cheer!
As much as we love getting gifts, there’s nothing better than the feeling when you give someone an amazing present. So why don’t you give a nice design piece to your sweethearts?! Something for their homes, where they are sitting by a Christmas tree and feeling happy.

My first suggestion is a handmade ceramic funnel for na iPhone and/or an iPod touch. It was made by the designers Isabella Lovero and Enrico Bosa. The device is working as a speaker and doesn’t need the electricity! The combination of an acoustic performance, aesthetic wood and ceramic design makes this piece a very special Christmas present.

This decorative seat cushion “Urchin” designed by the Dutch artist Christien Meindertsma  is made out of thick wool.  It is hand knitted, available in bright colours and in 10 different sizes. So don’t hesitate to invite your whole family for Christmas! You will have a right gift for everyone:)

This side table is made of a recycled wood and a glossy varnish.
The combination of two different materials and two different forms make it a  mixture of art and handcraft. This wonderful and individual piece fits in almost every living ambience.

These two tables are made of a chestnut tree trunk and a plane. Because of the visible structures of the chestnut and plane wood, these tables became real masterpieces!
Timeless design meets the naturalness of the wood – simply brilliant!

Even if you’re not a big Christmas fan, you’ll certainly enjoy getting cozy with a cup of hot chocolate and thinking about some nice gifts for your loved ones!
