Shabby Chic at Berlin’s Fleamarkets

Find your own style with a mix of heirlooms, flea market bargains and homemade pieces.

Last weekend I visited three finest flea markets with vintage furniture in Berlin. I love the beauty of the imperfect and worn objects with their own history.

The flea market at Straße des 17. Juni is probably one of the most famous flea markets in Berlin. You can find there lots of extraordinary pieces.

Two of my favorite elements in Shabby Chic Style were the vintage sofa and that classic chair with a comfortable cushion. They can give every room a touch of coziness.

At the Fleamarket at Boxhagener Platz in Berlin – Friedrichshain I found another piece in the Shabby Chic Style – a chandelier. It is not only glamorous, but also romantic.

At the end I visited fleamarket at Mauerpark. You can find there a lot of lovely unique accessories like these antique handles and a beautiful old tea service.

‚No Fire no Glory‘

This weekend I visited one of my favorite cafes ‚No Fire no Glory‚ at Rykestrasse 45 in Prenzlauer Berg

Every time I am there it is an extraordinary experience for my senses: tasteful coffee and inspiring interiors are a perfect match.

The inside of ‚No Fire no Glory‘ cafe reflects the American style.

Since the owner of the cafe puts a high value on the individual furnishing, he created most of the pieces by himself with the help of the fellow artists

Among other things he created these gorgeous chairs…

and the Brew Bar which is made out of Russian steel.

The cash register built in 1914 is an eye-catcher

You should definitely visit this lovely place – both for its coffee and its interior.

‚Jean et Lili‘

This weekend I made a tour through Berlin Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg to visit some furniture shops.

I explored number of places, but ‚Jean et Lili‘ at Winsstraße impressed me most.
You can find there furniture, lamps, home accessories and gifts in the Shabby Chic style.
Such a beautiful interior decoration can really sweeten up your everyday life.
The special thing about ‚Jean et Lili‘ is the selection of its own products, such as key boards, wall vases, wardrobes and more. So you can either purchase customized gifts or get nice ideas for your own DIY projects.

Patricia Urquiola

Today I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite Spanish designers: Patricia Urquiola.

She became known for a fabulous couch  „Antibodi“ and an armchair „Smock“, which is considered to be a furniture icon of the 21st century.

Patricia´s collections are characterized by her distinctive feminine style.
